Business Development and Operations Lead
About the Role
The Business Development and Operations Lead is BIH's commercial driving force on the ground. This is a founding role for an ambitious, entrepreneurial builder who will introduce BIH's digital products and services to businesses, institutions, and professionals across Nzemaland, build lasting relationships in the community, and help shape how the Hub grows from the ground up. You will be close to the customer, close to the work, and trusted with real responsibility from day one. We offer competitive compensation with performance-based incentives, and a clear path to grow into senior leadership as BIH expands. If you are hungry, resourceful, and want to help build something significant from within your own community, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- •Business Development: Introduce and grow adoption of BIH's digital products and services among businesses, organisations, and professionals across the three Nzema districts.
- •Relationship Building: Build trusted relationships with business owners, institutions, and professionals, understanding their needs and how BIH can serve them.
- •Market Insight: Engage the community to understand local needs and opportunities, and share clear, honest findings with the founding team.
- •Service Delivery: Ensure every product and service is delivered to a high standard, protecting BIH's reputation for excellence.
- •Talent Spotting: Help identify promising, ambitious young people in the community who could thrive in BIH's programmes.
- •Operations Support: Support day-to-day operations, handle resources responsibly, and provide regular, transparent reports to the founding team.
Requirements
- •Minimum Education: Senior High School (SHS) certificate required; a tertiary qualification is an advantage.
- •Drive and Integrity: A self-motivated builder with exceptional integrity who can work independently, take ownership, and deliver without being supervised.
- •Relationship Skills: Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills, with the ability to win trust and communicate value clearly.
- •Language: Fluency in English and Nzema is essential for engaging the community.
- •Digital Comfort: Comfortable using everyday digital tools (smartphone, mobile money, basic software) and eager to keep learning.
- •Local Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the communities across Nzemaland and the ability to move around the districts.
- •Attributes: An entrepreneurial 'builder' mindset, resilience, and a genuine desire to create opportunity from within the community.
- •Residency: Must be based in or near Aiyinasi. This is a hands-on, in-person role.
